Last weekend was my first foray into the specialist world of V8 Supercars. I had the enviable job of shooting this fantastic event over 2 days at Sydney Olympic Park, for the final round of the V8 Supercar Championship. Results on Saturday meant that Sunday came down to a decider for the Championship between team Vodafone drivers Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup, with the latter being the Winner on a wet Sunday to claim his 3rd V8 SupercarChampionship Trophy. If I sound a little enthused, it's because shooting this sport is a buzz. The cars go hard and fast, and the fans harder. I shot it with a fairly specific brief, so my stuff is pretty heavy on signage, but hope to get an open brief to cover it again one day. And to top it off, the Concert on the Saturday night with Hunters and Collectors reforming for a once only show, along with Noiseworks, John Farnham, James Reyne, and X-Factor Winner Reece Mastin.
